Erin Warrner
Erin Warrner is the founder of Warrner Legal, where she represents clients in immigration and criminal matters with a particular focus on helping immigrants navigate the legal system. Her approach is straightforward: know the law, know the courtroom, prepare thoroughly, and never lose sight of the person at the center of the case.
Erin brings more than 15 years of litigation and trial experience to her practice. Before founding Warrner Legal, she spent ten years as a deputy prosecuting attorney, where she tried more than fifty jury trials and countless bench trials. As a supervising attorney in the Special Victims Unit, she handled some of the most serious cases in the criminal justice system, including homicides, sex offenses, and other major felony matters.
That experience taught her how to build a case, think several moves ahead, and stay steady when the stakes are high.

Erin later shifted her focus to immigration law, supervising a team of attorneys at an Indianapolis nonprofit organization with a caseload of more than one thousand immigration matters. Her work included family-based immigration, removal defense, and representation before the immigration courts.
Today, she brings those two worlds together.
At Warrner Legal, Erin represents clients in immigration matters and criminal defense, with a special focus on cases where the criminal and immigration systems overlap. She understands that for a noncitizen, a criminal case may affect far more than fines, probation, or jail time. It can affect a person’s ability to remain in the United States, reunite with family, or build the future they have worked for.
Erin was born and raised on the south side of Indianapolis and graduated from Perry Meridian High School. She attended Ball State University (Chirp Chirp!) before returning home to earn her law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she attended the evening program while working full time.
She is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and before the Executive Office for Immigration Review. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Indiana State Bar Association.
Erin believes excellent legal representation requires more than knowing the law. Clients deserve clear answers, honest advice, thoughtful strategy, and an attorney who is willing to stand beside them when things are difficult. Many of her clients come to Warrner Legal during some of the most stressful and uncertain moments of their lives, and she takes seriously the responsibility of helping them understand what comes next.
Outside of the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her family and dog, taking on home improvement projects that are occasionally more ambitious than necessary, gardening, and exploring new restaurants, especially the ones her clients tell her she absolutely has to try. She has recently discovered mahjong and remains convinced that one day she will finally learn how to golf.
